California has no surveillance pricing law. AB 2564 died at the end of the 2026 session. A separate law, AB 325, has barred shared pricing algorithms that use competitor data since January 1, 2026.

California’s surveillance pricing ban passed both chambers but died when the Assembly did not vote on the Senate’s amendments before the session ended on August 31, 2026. A similar bill may return in the next session.
